\nNet Video, Black Box
\n

\nThe exhibition ‘Net Video, Black Box’ is a show compiled from the DVblog.org web site. Started in 2005, the site has borne witness to the rapid expansion of video art on the web (especially video art intended directly for the internet). It functions as a daily online video magazine and an archive for videos in the QuickTime format (the insistence that any piece posted must reside on the DVblog server has meant it is now unparalleled as an archive of the first years of art video on the web.)
\nThe site has also tried to situate the new flourishing of video on the web in the context of the rich experimental film tradition of the 20th century, and although this is now becoming a commonplace, was one of the first to do so. DVblog has been alert to the connections between art video and “applied moving image” such as the best of advertising, music videos and comedy.
\nWe chose “Black Box” to refer to the cinematic presentation of moving image in a gallery space as well as a metaphor for the recording device installed in airplanes, a closed set of components that aim to document a different and vital kind of data.
\n‘Black Box’ refers also to the fact that ‘video art’ on the web has largely been ignored by the art establishment and the art market, perhaps because it is difficult to “marketize” work that is so freely reproducible. That such a view bears no relationship to the actual quality of the work will be amply clear from this show.

\n וידאו רשת , קופסה שחורה התערוכה ‘וידאו רשת, קופסה שחורה’ היא תצוגה של לקט עבודות וידאו הלקוח מאתר האינטרנט די.וי. בלוג האתר, אשר התחיל פעילותו בשנת 2005, הוא עדות להתרחבות המהירה של אמנות הוידאו באינטרנט (ובמיוחד ארט-וידאו שיועד כבר בעת יצירתו ישירות למדיום האינטרנט). האתר מתפקד כמגזין יומי מקוון וארכיון עבור קטעי וידאו בפורמט ה ‘קוויק-טיים’ והתעקשות יוצריו כי כל יצירה שפורסמה חייבת להיות מאוכלסת בשרת הביאה לכך שאין אתר מקביל לו כארכיון המתעד את השנים הראשונות של ארט-וידאו ברשת האתר ניסה למקם את פריחת הוידאו באינטרנט בהקשר של המסורת העשירה של הסרט הנסיוני של המאה ה20, והיה אחד הראשונים לעשות זאת, למרות שההקשר הזה הינו מקובל יותר בימנו די.וי.בלוג היה ער לקשרים בין אמנות וידאו ו’קולנוע שימושי’ באמנויות כמו פרסום, קליפים מוסיקלים וקומדיה השם ‘קופסה שחורה’ נבחר כדי להתייחס למצגת הקולנועית של ‘תמונה זזה’ בחלל הגלריה כמו גם כמטפורה למכשיר ההקלטה המותקן במטוסים, מערכת סגורה של רכיבים שמטרתם לתעד מסד שונה וחיוני של נתונים. ‘קופסה שחורה’ מתייחס גם לעובדה כי המימסד האמנותי ושוק האמנות מתעלמים מאמנות הוידאו ברשת אולי בגלל הקשיים ‘לשווק’ עבודות הניתנות לשכפול בקלות יחסית. צפיה בתערוכה תבהיר כליל את העובדה שנתון ‘שיווקי’ זה אינו קשור בשום אופן לאיכות העבודות דורון גולן \/ מייקל ספקואוסקי תערוכה זו היא במיסגרת פרויקט ‘נט-סינמה’ המתמקד באמנות מדיה ובעבודות העושות שימוש בטכנולוגיה חדשה בפרט. גלריה גבעון תציג מספר פעמים בשנה תערוכות בנושא זה בהם יוצגו אמנים בין-לאומיים כמו אמנים מקומיים העוסקים בין השאר &#
